Start with the job, not the product

- Cost that scales with headcount. Per-seat pricing punishes you for hiring chatters. Look for tools priced per creator account, or per connected account, so the bill tracks the business rather than the team.
- A workflow the UI will not do. If you are fighting the interface, another interface is a lateral move. This is where an API stops being a developer luxury and starts being the cheaper option.
- Needing your own data programmatically. Custom reporting, paid-traffic attribution, an internal tool, a product of your own. Full-suite platforms are built UI-first and rarely expose enough to do this properly.
